Then you'll be able to exit through this very room. After all the pipes are running with fluid/gas, you can go back into the control room and blast this thing to pieces. Fix it and bail before it kills you, then go back to this room and fix the next thing. It will lead you to more zombies/eyehounds/spitty spaghetti monsters and eventually get you to a broken mechanism you need to fix. Scope the room out, find where the doors are (they are initially boarded, so you'll need to break the boards), and then put a grenade in the middle of the room and run for the door. The doors on the walls of this cylindrical room lead to these different places. You'll need to fix the fuel lines and the oxygen pump. The goal is to fix the rocket engine on the ceiling so it would blast this thing. So grab the grenades and throw one into the middle of the room. The tentacles, those horrible monsters that have incredibly strong attack. The first time that I played Half-Life, I got stuck in this level for a few months, didn’t realize the fan could lift me in the air. This 3-headed thing goes hiding when you explode something at its feet. Blast pit, the second most hated level by me. Probably because I didn't know much English beyond "London is the capital of Great Britain". When I first played HL, I spent a week riddling this out.
